Pre- Production - Timings of each lyric line - Ellie Goulding Only You

These are the timings for each line of the song, this includes the instrumentals. I have done this so that when I am filming, I can quickly look at this piece of paper and I will know where about I am in the song when I'm filming. This will also come in handy with editing so that I know where the lip syncing should be, by using these timings, it will make it easier for me to get the lip syncing correct.

Pre- Production - Lyric deconstruction - Ellie Goulding - Only You - Neater Copy

Pre- Production - Draft of deconstruction of lyrics

Pre- Production - First thoughts for a music video to Ellie Goulding - Only You

This was my first thought on idea's for filming a music video for Ellie Goulding - Only You

Pre- Production - Learning what characteristics define different music video genres

From doing this I learnt that most hip hop/R n B generally include lots of swearing, stereo-typically having dark coloured skin people in the music videos, the artist is made out to be the main person in the video and women are seen as the objects. There scenery is rich looking, with the outfits being expensive with lots of chains.

Rock and metal bands are mainly dark and focused on the instruments, this allows them to show their talent and most of the music video's are abstract.

Boy and girl bands are stereo-typically pop songs about love, mainly teenagers make up the band which are dressed in casual clothes that are on trend with lots of dance moves through out the video.

Alternative/Indie bands are mainly male and are random with some quirky electro or instrumental music and the music videos don't normally relate to the stereo type.
