Final Production - Album Advert

This is what my finished album advert looks like.

Final Production - Digipak

This is what my digipak looks like put into the template, however because I made my digipak on photo shop, it doesn't fill the whole box because otherwise the size of the image and writing will be elongated and it would look wrong.

I decided to print off my digipak to see what it looked like when printed. I could only print it in a really small size and the lighting in the room I used to take these images was really bad.

This is what the front of my digipak looks like when printed.

This is the inside left with the song lyrics which in this image you can't see properly due to bad lighting when the picture was taken. You can also see the disc display pattern.

Again due to bad lighting the colours aren't showing up properly but this is what the back cover looks like when printed.

Ancillary Task - how I edited

To edit my digipak and album advert, I used photoshop.

To start of with I needed to decide which images from the photo shoot I was going to use, after going through and looking at each image multiple times, I decided on these images for my digipak;

And for my album advert I decided to re use this picture as it fitted well with how I wanted my album advert to be laid out and also the audience would recognize the image from being on the digipak.

For my digipak and album advert I am going to cut out the images from their backgrounds and put them onto a water colour background, I did this by using the magic wand tool and selecting all the area's of the image that I wanted to keep. I did this for all of my images

 

I then copied and pasted this cut out image onto my water colour background which I have already scanned in and opened onto photoshop

To make the water colour background less bold and more faded, I played around with the opacity of it and found that 73% gave the best colouring

As I had already looked and researched fonts all I had to do was find the exact colour that was on my digipak, with the same amount of text outline and play around with where I wanted to place my texts. This took a while as I wanted to get it just right.

I then had to decide which colour and the size of the artist links and where to place them without the album advert looking strange.

Finally I added the record label logo to show what record label my artist belonged too.

As I had already created my digipak, the album advert didn't take as long to make because I had already made the decisions on the type of text, the colours, the outline so it stands out, I had already done the research into record labels and already had a clear image of what I wanted it to look like.

As you can see for my album advert I decided on my first draft because this advert would look better as it is portrait and looks more professional, it also looks like it would be in different magazines such as popworld and welovepop.

The idea for my album advert is to have a medium close up shot of the artist in the middle with album name quite large and the "out now" in even bigger text, to grab the attention of the audience to the poster, the artist name will be in top left hand corner with her internet links in the top right hand corner.

 

 

The other idea for my album advert is to have a landscape advert with the image that's on the digipak cover and have the album name and out now at the bottom, the artist name in the left hand corner and the artist links in the right hand corner.

Whichever one I choose will have the blue watercolour background which will also be on the digipak.

Ancillary Task - Draft of digipak

To make this digipak I will use a medium close up shot on the front cover, a medium long shot for the left inside and a long shot on the back cover, this will show that this digipak is all about the artist and her style.

On the front cover there will also be the artist's name, album title and saying that it features the song I made the music video for.
The left inside will have the lyrics to the song I made the music video for, along with a medium long shot of the artist.
The disc space will have a circle pattern behind it which will also be in all the corners of the digipak.
The back cover will have a long shot of the artist with the track names and numbers which are on the album along with a bar code, the record label company logo, the artist links and all the legal information that needs to be on the digipak.

To make the digipak different and stand out from the rest, I will paint with blue water colours and scan it in and use it as a background for the digipak, this will also be on the album advert as well to show that they are linked together.
